New Gun Advise!
Hi,
I'm new here and have a couple questions. First let me introduce myself.
I'm Carl from Chandler Arizona. I have a 65 Mustang convertible in need of restoration. It was put on hold about 11 years ago when we had our second child. I recently had my two week old 2011 Ford Focus tagged in the front end and have decided to take the insurance money, buy a few tools to update my old ones and fix the damage myself. I've painted a few cars in my day but that was about 20 years ago.
The first thing I did was come on this site and gather info on which HVLP to purchase. I thought I'd replace my Binks 2001 with something new. My compressor's output is 13.5 cfm so I purchased an IWATA LPH400-LVX with the 1.4 tip. I was wondering what the physical differences are between the gun I purchased and the LPH400-LV? Is it just the cap or are there other parts that are different also? I won't be painting too much so I'd like to use this gun for both base coat and clear.
If I were to just purchase the Silver cap for the LPX does this turn it into an LV and will this work for clear also?
Thanks in advance for you help!
