New Guy, I have info on the 318 Poly!

Hi!

I'm the webmaster at The Polyspherical Engine Association, which is pretty much just a run-of-the-mill personal web page over at GeoCities.

If you're running a 318 Poly and need info, here it is:
Polyspherical Engine Association
http://www.geocities.com/polyman64/

(Don't confuse the new site with the old site:
http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/track/4164/ - It's still up, because the password was lost to time. Bummer - it gets more hits! )

People ended up asking me all the time where to get parts, so as I found 'em I compiled a list of sites. Bob Asay actually started the site, and I used to answer tech questions there, until we lost touch (I got married, had kids, etc). Recently I asked him if I could update it a bit, and Bob greenlighted me, so I did (and added more businesses that sell Poly parts - they may as well be in one place online, and that may as well be the site to do it on). The Yahoo group and the other forum were started for the same reasons, although they're a little more conducive to interaction.

The 318 Poly Yahoo Group:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/318poly/

And this 318 Poly message Board::
http://www.diamondbackengines.com/fo...board,6.0.html

Anyway, like I said I just updated the Poly Business Directory at the Polyspherical Engine Association so folks can find what they're looking for.

Some moderators may ask if I own any of those businesses - the answer is no - nope, no way (not that cool), and I am not advertising or selling anything. I'm just a guy spreading the word about the Poly and making the endless scavenger hunt for parts a little easier - all in a purely informational way.

I DO push manufacturers to manufacture parts from time-to-time like I personally own every Poly in the World, but that's just because I'm passionate and want more parts to be available. Why should we be "Ugly Ducklings" of the Mopar world, right?

Let me know if I can help!

~Jason

Welcome Jason...Know what you mean about the Poly. A friend, when we were kids decieded to build up one of these motors...It cost him a fortune.

We've been working to get that cost down. I guess you could say I'm kind of a one-man advocacy group.

Word on the street is that you'd have to build an LA 318 into a 360 stroker to get the torque of a stock 318 poly!

When I was growing up my Dad bought a new 318 poly 4bbl in a 60 Dodge Phoenix (first B body) with push button and it kicked 327 Impala butt regularly. That poly ran real well for the early 60s. It had the reputation of being one of the quickest cars around.

Traded it on a new 64 Polara 500 (B body) with 383- 727. Wish I had them both right now.

Just think what it would've done with a set of those new TTI headers!
