New here

Currently in the planning stages of some of my projects, one being a 318 Poly powered hot rod.

I was originally going to resto-rod the truck it came out of (1966 D100), but unfortunately as I began tearing it down, I found a lot more hidden damage than I thought and sad to say, had to scrap the truck. But I did however save the engine.

Unfortunately I have a lot of projects going right now, so I'll more than likely be posting more questions than progress posts at the moment.

Here's a pic when it was still in the truck.

Currently it has the valve covers off, and I removed the old 2brl. intake. I was lucky enough to purchase a Weiand intake for this thing when they were still on sale at Summit. About a week after I ordered they stopped selling them, along with everyone else.

It did run when I pulled it, albeit not very well (bad gas. Truck sat for a while).

Thinking of doing a pretty basic T-bucket build as this is my first hot rod build and I don't want to get too in over my head.

But for now I'm focused on that motor. It's slowly coming a part piece by piece when I have the time to get around to it.

poly

Interesting engine, sure don't hear much ever about a poly. I actually have one in my 1969 Dodge 26ft motor home, has a 2brl carb and points still, runs awesome. Hope you are able to do some mods on yours, very interested.

In my world the more different the better when it comes to powerplants. I didn't know that motor existed, I like it!

Good old motor. Run great with a 4 bbl and duals. Lots of speed stuff for them. Dual quads, offy valve covers, headers made by TTI too. You can even fit in a stroker crank. Here's a link for some info on them.
