New Holley carbs any good? (4160, Street Avenger, etc)

I'm in need of a new carb for my 302 Ford that I'm slipping into an '80 Pinto. I was going to order up my old favorite, the 4160 (1850 list) when something caught my eye. Holley seems to have removed the externally adjustable floats and sight plugs. They claim the new floats are set for life from the factory. I'm not sure if I trust that (in fact I find this "cheapening" of the 4160 irratating to no end). I've seen float adjustments knocked out from rough handling from shippers. This leads me to my next question: how are these new Street Avenger carbs? They have all the features I want but are a bit more pricey than I like. Should I just buy the "new" non-adjustable 4160/1850 or is the Street Avenger worth the extra dough? Thanks.

I would suggest staying away from the street avenger carbs. I've ran a mechanical Holley 650, Q-Jet, Edelbrock, and recently bought a 670 thinking it would be a good performance street carb and its a nightmare. Nothing I've ever had was as frustrating or had as many problems as the street avenger.

If you want a Holley stick with a normal double pumper.
