If you've already registered a username and password, here are some basic tips to help you get your hotrodding tech questions answered as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
BEFORE YOU ASK YOUR FIRST HOTRODDING TECH QUESTION
We've had over 60,000 different discussions on the Hotrodders Bulletin Board. Most common tech questions have already been discussed in great detail. Instead of starting a new discussion with one of these common questions (such as "which carb should I choose", etc.), you'll be expected to look through the old discussions to see what's been covered before.
We have a powerful search function that will allow you to search through all of our old posts. To access the search function, use the link below:

ASKING YOUR FIRST QUESTION
If you've taken the time to search through some old tech posts, and you still haven't found an answer to your question, now it's time to post it on the board. Here are some basic tips to help you get your question answered quickly and thoroughly:
AFTER YOU ASK YOUR FIRST QUESTION
After asking your question, be sure to regularly re-visit the discussion to read the replies, and to provide any additional information if necessary. If the information you received helped you to solve the problem, please post in the discussion to let us know.
HOTRODDERS BULLETIN BOARD DO's AND DON'T's
Nobody expects you to get everything here right on the first try, and everybody screws up from time to time. We thrive on good discussions, and we're relying on you to ask good questions.
It doesn't matter if you've been wrenching on cars for decades, or if you've never done an oil change before. If you demonstrate respect, and show people that you're willing to learn, every door here will be opened for you.
Once again, if you haven't yet registered a username and password for posting on the Hotrodders Bulletin Board, you can do so quickly and easily by using the link below:

ASKING YOUR FIRST QUESTION
If you've taken the time to search through some old tech posts, and you still haven't found an answer to your question, now it's time to post it on the board. Here are some basic tips to help you get your question answered quickly and thoroughly:
- Place your question in the correct forum. Carburetor questions go in the Engine forum. Paint questions go in the Body-Exterior forum. Beginner questions go in the Hotrodding Basics forum. To see a list of all of our forums, click here.
- Write a descriptive subject, not "having a problem" or "need some help". Everyone here is having a problem, and needs some help .
- Don't ever post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, it's called "SHOUTING!", and it's considered rude.
- Use the spell-check function to check your post before you post it. Then, use the post preview function to look your post over one last time, and to check any images or links you may have posted.
- DO start a Hotrodders Project Journal. We offer free photo-journals to our members for documenting their current hotrodding projects. To view the project journals, or to start your own, simply click here.
- DO start a Hotrodders Photo Album. We offer free photo albums for you to upload miscellaneous hotrodding pics. To view the photo albums, or to start your own, simply click here.
- DO enter your birthdate. By entering your age, we can get a rough estimate on your skill level and experience. This will assist you in getting more helpful replies to your tech questions. To enter your birthdate, simply click here, scroll down, enter your birthdate in the form, and then scroll down again and hit the "Save Changes" button.
- DON'T post your email address on the board. We reply to questions on the board, so that everybody can see the answer, and not by email.
- DON'T try to pretend that you know more than you do. Admit what you know, and what you don't, and people will be happy to help you learn. Show respect for the older generation of hotrodders. Try to show off, and someone who knows 10 times as much as you will make you look like a fool in front of everybody.
- DON'T use foul language. We keep the forums at a "PG" level.
- DON'T get off-topic. Keep discussions centered on the issue at hand.
- DON'T post classified ads. We have a special classifieds section for posting ads.
- DON'T advertise your business. We have plenty of business owners in the hotrodding industry who post regularly on the board. If you're affiliated with a business in the hotrodding industry, you may not post contact information for that business on public board posts, in your custom user title, or in your avatar. Business contact information includes, but is not limited to: physical addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs. Stating the name of your business is allowed, as long as the name of your business is not identical to any business contact information.
- DON'T cut-and-paste large amounts of text into board posts. It's illegal, unethical, and it slows down our board search engine. Instead, just quote up to a paragraph of text, and then put a link in your post that people can follow to read the entire resource. This helps to keep threads easy-to-read, and shows respect to the original author of the quoted resource.
