new hughes 400 turbo

i have a hughes turbo 400 bran new in a 70 AMX trans hardly moves in foward or reverce fluid is full no leaks small crunching noise when shifting into park

Crunching isn't good. You should call Hughes & see what they say.

If you have a crunch noise when shift in to park, Perhaps this is the parking pawl engaging into the teeth on the planetary unit?

This tells me the drive shaft or at least the out put shaft of the trans is turning when you shift to park.

Pete is sales manager at Hughes... he will direct your questions to tech folks as needed.
