a new idea? maybe

Damn... i feel like an idiot, askin so many questions from everyone here, but everyones been aot of help and i want to thank them real quick... and ask if anyone knows anything about putting bondo or somehting like that between the can and the bed/camper on a truck, like to give it a cleaner look... i have a feeling this may be dumb because of the truck needing to twist and bend or anything like that but i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this... thanks again for any help

Your cab and bed move independently of each other, so trying to join them with bondo... well lets just say it will be a waste of time and money....

Yep, no way, no how. If you wanted to "mould" ANY panels together you would need to weld them first and make them "ONE". The bed and cab would be even more complicated, as Bondo king said, they DO move quite a bit independed from one an other. Even "just welding" would produce disaster.

The cab sits on rubber mounts to cushion the vibrations from the frame and the box is bolted directly to the frame so both of these assemblies will flex and move at different rates. The box would need to be rubber mounted or the cab would need to be mounted solid, then both would need to be joined with some inner structure before the external sheetmetal is blended/welded together. Ford made some unibody trucks in the mid 60's and even them were known to crack where the box joins the cab. A full roll cage would help stiffen the assembly . This can be done but you're looking at a fairly large job to do it right. I've seen full sized blazers and broncos converted into pickups. Bob

Or you could find and old 62 Ford I-beam truck. They were unibody trucks! So the bed and cab were one unit.

I saw a "unibody" fabercation on a Nissan truck at a lowridershow once.......The cab and bed were molded together making it seem like one solid peace.....I dont' know exactly how they did it, but I'm sure welding was invalved........also they molding in the canapy to the bed and cab too
