new kids , old cars

kinda funny, kids and cars.
my 2 month old daughter hates riding in my daily driver(79 volare 4door)
my 5 year old daughter is always asking if i can "squeak the tires"
the volare is NOT about squeaking any thing except a belt maybe.
i store my cutlass at the shop i work for, pull it out during working hours, then put it away at the end of the day.
kind of funny to see the 5 year old's eyes like dinner plates when she helps me put the "old green car" to bed squeaking the tires all over the lot.
hope the little one gets to liking it!

Ain't life grand! It only takes some small little thing like that to turn an entire day around.

There's a little 5 or 6 year old girl in my mom's neighborhood who LOVES old cars and freaks everytime she see's my truck ... I mean, this kid is really remarkable! No one in her family is into cars, there's no explanation for her interest ... she even wanted to see under my hood, man!

It's just the cutest thing! She looks at everything on the truck ... all it's lines ... she bends down and looks underneath ... and then she wants to listen as I pull away -- so you know I lay some rubber for her!

Too cool.

I never was around many kids, but a friend of mine lives out on an island nearby, gated comunity type place with wealthy folks. Her husband owns a chicken company. Shes a real laid back chick and does things to piss off her neighbors like paint the trashcan neon pink (in her neighborhood they have to be brown or dark green). I always met her and her husband and sometimes her neice out in town. Well one week she told me to stop by the house. I got in with little problems because I had an invite and she called the gate. I drove through these beautiful winding roads that were black and smooth past golf carts and older folks with tall green grass and it was just cool. All the time gettng eyeballed with a not so nice look. Everyone I saw gave me a dirty look, but I drove on. Got to her house went inside and came out later and there was a gathering in the driveway of little kids, no idea how old because I don't know much about kids, but they couldn't have been too old dragging their disaproving parents out to see. These kids thought it was the greatest thing in the world, made the day.

Axle, don't fret bud, she'll grow into them.
