New laptop....boy, I'm a lucky guy..

Heres`the story.....

2 years ago, I bought an HP laptop, Celeron proccessor, 256 ram, DVD player etc. Bought the 3 year extended warranty with it. Everybody said that I shouldn't have bothered, but am I glad that I did.

Last month I had to take it in for the 3rd time. Turns out that they couldn't fix it, mother board is shot. Anyways, they replaced it with one of the same price. Of course, now, the same money buys a much nicer unit.

Got a Toshiba A10, 40 gig, 512 ram, CD writer, DVD player wireless network etc......Its great.

Of course, I got the 3 year warranty.....Hope it blows up again in 2 years........

The price of this one is $1399 cdn. It is much faster than the old one which was $1899 cdn. Like I said, the warranty paid all of this one. I did have to buy a new warranty ($349cdn). I think thats` pretty good for what I have now. I have the laptop, because we travel a bit and we have a trailer that we go to on the weekends. We have dialup there.

Also, its` nice sitting in the TV room watching TV and being on the computer at the same time.

I have a K7V Asus motherboard with an AMD 900 overclocked to about 1.4 gig. Only bad thing is, I have about 6 fans in my case and have to keep the shell off to avoid overheating. It's shut itself down a few times last summer, but this winter has been pretty fast

I've been running this setup for about a year now with no software problems and SUPERFAST loading, multitasking, and gaming speed doubled.

Yes, you can hotrod a computer too. Just read up and make sure you know what you're doing. Mistakes here get kinda pricey.

Hey K2mooch,
You should build yoru computer in a mini-fridge. That would sure help your overheating problems.

My friend's dad owns a computer company and I just want his computer. It has twin 2 ghz processors, 10 gigs of RAM, and a 4 Terrabyte? hardrive.
