The new LS9 crate engine

Well we just got our first ls9 in the shop. To be installed in a first gen. Camaro, hope GM gets the ECM and harness ready soon or there will be a lot of reasearch to do in a short time. I havent posted here in a long time, guess i am just bored!

Whoa, that's a serious powerplant for anything. Keep us updated. This is not your typical 'swap'...

No hating intended.
What is the big deal about having the first one? I have friends that are the same way with their motorcycles, gotta have the first one in town, first one in the country, etc.
Maybe its just me and I am not competitive enough to need to buy the first anything.
How about the rest of you, is First One that important to you?

Funny thing is...in the 'Stang thread, the O.P. says they have the first one, but towards the end someone else posts a link to pics of a LS9 already installed and basically finished being installed in a '69 Camaro...so they didn't get the first one. Or they waited too long to post about it

Hey folks, I just said that we just got our first one, not the first one. I never said it was a big deal but I thought someone on this site might be interested in a project like this, I guess I have forgotten the "pissing contest" mentality on some of thees sites. sorry to post in your territory. It wont happen again.

Give Sapnky a break. He was just saying they got "their" first LS9, nothing about it being "the" first LS9. I don"t know about the rest of the folks on here Spanky but I would be interested in hearing and seeing how it turns out.
As for Old Fool, well I guess your name says it all!!!

Spanky, you'll have to post some pictures when you get the engine in. That's going to be a wild ride. Is it rated at the full 638 hp (or whatever the rating the ZR1 is rated at)?

Ok I would be glad to, and we beleive the horsepower rating is a conservitive number. so far our research seems to indicate the multi level fuel pressure and fuel pump controller may have been primarily for emissions concerns, this and our past expiriances with ls2, ls3, and ls7 engines tells us that there is a lot more power available outside of factory programming and fuel supply. Price to our shop, $21,210.00 Also I just tried to post pictures of the engine and project car, but it said my pictures were too big? guess I need to learn a little more about this site.

You can resize them in "Paint" and then attach and up-load the images in your post, make sure they meet the size restrictions in the upload screen.

I got the first Trek 88DH downhill mtn bike in the western Canadian prairies...course we don't have any mountains sooooo.

Awwww....c'mon I wanna play too!

Don't mind the haters Spanky, they are everywhere.

Welcome back!

Spanky-

I did NOT say you were infatuated with being the first or was getting the first .
The link in a following post had a guy that wanted to be the first person to have an ls9/first gen camaro. This is what got me to thinking about what is the big deal about being the first to buy something.

As others have indicated it would be nice to follow your project and learn the pitfalls along the way to completion

I apologize for upsetting you. As I stated in the beginning of my original post, I was not "hating" . I am just curious to how people think.
