Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums, and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Jessica. I live in Gulf Shores, AL, and I started as an apprentice at a local restoration/repair shop almost a year ago. I've learned a lot since then, and been around and had my hands in some amazing vehicles. I've been itching to get my own project to put my new skills to work, and after just moving into a new house not a month ago with a big two car garage, I'm finally diving right in. I went up with my boss to see a guy who had a frame from a 37 Ford, as I had originally wanted to do a nostalgia hot rod. He had said he had some other stuff on his land we'd want to look at, and looked we did. Instead of leaving with a frame, I left with the purchase of a 62 T-Bird. My boss ended up buying the 65' Falcon Futura sitting next to it:
The car pretty much came with a second set of everything, including front and rear glass, trim, a trunk lid, rear bumper, interior parts and seats. And some original skirts!
I'm still deciding what direction I want to go in with it. The only thing set in stone right now is beefing up the 390 during it's rebuild(oh, how I wish I could afford a tri-power setup). I am seriously considering cutting the roof off, and having a carson top built for it, as well as building a fiberglass Roadster tonneau cover replica for when the top's off. Dreamin' big...
I look forward to sharing my build with y'all, and will be happily joining in on discussions in the mean time.
