new paint over good factory paint

I am painting another modded hood for my truck and....
not to be to judgmental on brands, but if your just learning to paint, only a couple small jobs under your belt, would you recommend S-W "Western Paint"
over a rm diamont paint or vice-versa. User friendliest is what I'm after, along with a quality finish product. b/c - c/c
any opinions - Please
these 2 brands seem to be what I get get here locally b-t-w

I don't think you'll notice much of a difference.
Any basecoat will be pretty "user friendly"
One may cover a little better than the other but
spraying it will still be pretty easy.
Base is the easiest "type" to spray.
It's very forgiving

Thank you for that
any advice on clear coat, a durable clear coat product with a high solids content no doubt
or should I stay with the same manufacturers line all the way through?

I have to ask this
I've been hearing good things on SPI products, so can I for example use SPI epoxy or 2k primer and then use the S-W base coat which I know the color matches up great to my factory solar yellow paint, then use the SPI universal clear over it without any problems.
