new to restoring

hello all glad to be here restoring a 81 ta 305 motor unfortunely body good shape frame ok just one bad spot on the frame the rear bumper support on the drivers side rotted out have to remove and weld new peice. Started car on the weekend it has been on blocks out side in winters and summers after priming system started on first time runs strong car has low kilomoters it also needs an ignition lock assembly had to use screwdriver.I would like to know if any older or newer parts are interchangleable for me to use as i am on a limited budgetwhat yrs and types to look for. the rear end is 10 botl what is it for posi 12 bolt?.

Ill try to look around for you. Personally i like going to junk yards, stuff might not be pretty but if you have the stuff to make it look nice, i think thats the cheapest way, or to make it work ect ect.

i plan on doin just that but i want to be sure if the yrs 70 to 81 camaro are interchangable with my bird

70 1/2 to 81 Firebird/Camaro front and rear suspensions and rearends are all interchangable. The steering columns, seats, window glass and roof panels are interchangable also but you'll need to use the rear glass from a '74 or later because of the change to the front lower corners.
