New Setup...

Please. Hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

I've been doing alot of research lately and this is what I've come up with.

Want to build an engine that could be used for occasional towing and is quick at the same time. Would like to run on regular also.

Vehicle 88 Astro, 700r4, 3.73ls, towing about 4500#.

I'm plannng on building a 406 chevy and my is question is:
#1- Engine kit, which one would be better Eagle 13012 or the Speed-o-motive http://www.speedomotive.com/400_w.htm

#2-Comp cam recommended xe274h or kit 12-246-3 (what do you guys think?)

#3-Edelbrock Performer RPM head and RPM Air Gap intake

#4-Carb not sure which to use. Which one would you recommend. (was thinking of 650 speed demon)

#5-Tranny from Monster Motorsport http://www.fearthemonster.com/transm...avyduty/700r4/
Has anyone had experience with them???

Thanks in advance.....

My 1st concern would be towing that much weight with an Astrovan. I would think that a full size van would be better. I could be wrong, I've seen Astrovans towing some pretty big house trailers, but I always seem to think that the tow-er should be heavier than the tow-eee

monster motorsports.... im not sure how serious they are, for one all the graphich on their homepage is copied dirrectly from bowtieoverdrives www.700r4.com and they use tha same parts as bowtir does, od go with the original ftom the guys who knows, and not from monster... and also be sure to get a lockup switch kit, this will lockup in all gears but first, so you wont roast your tranny (that way it will drive like an automatic shifted manual tranny, and not produce all the heat in the conherter when it slips)
