New T.V. show for car collectors

There is a new show planned for back yard collectors. Read about it here. This show interests me.

Given my thoughts concerning most car shows (i think the only things decent were "Second chance garage and motorweek) i'm not overly enthusiastic about it.

I didn't recognize the producers name, I just hope it's not another reality show in the vein of the other car shows produced by that goof ball from the Discovery channel.

Ok, i can't take it anymore.

ALL CAR SHOWS ON TV ARE GARBAGE.

(except motorweek, but that's not as good as it was either....)

their goin for more viewers and missin the mark for us. its a ratings thing.i dont think it helps.i'll give any of em a chance but i agree most are way off the real subject to me.id love to see a real car show about the back yard build or home garage build. theres so many of them and a dang lot of em are among the finest built cars there are anywhere. ive see plenty of em and know yall have too. thats what would intrest me. not the dang drama or the bs friggin deadline. hahaha...thats funny though, in a waste my time way.those hot rod shows we watch could be dang cool. proly all of em. just cut to the build.

Your right it is all about ratings...If they actually targeted a show for people that new what they where doing it wouldn't last...Not enough people to watch it...but like I said, I'll try anything once...I can always shut it off.

maybe you should watch musclecar..
sadly the networks don't think there are enough of us. to DO a real gearhead tech heavy show..
and ha nkow. I don't blame them on bit..
look at the hate mail hot rod gets monthly.. tomany camaros. not enough mopars.. there can be 4 fords and 2 tech stories and the ford bunch cry..

why would any network want to risk the funds only to have some goof email them that because the rearend they showed a gearchange on was a belly button 8.8"ford they'll not be watching..

face it networks are a business.. ad dollars are what runs it.. people watch those drama car shows.. that = ad dollars..

nevermind the internet airchair q/b that will post every little thing they did wrong... or they THINK they did wrong. even if they've never popped a gearend cover.. thats never stopped anyone..

could they do a nice show ,showing a project car from start to finish.. sure.. if people watching took it as a way to learn something .instead of something to b_tch about monday morning..
as seen as that never happen.. I'll not be waiting on a tech heavy car show on any channel

Only show I can recall that is half way technical is that one w/the guy that has the annoying habit of throwing removed parts across the shop. You know the one. Guy doesn't just point to something in front of him during the commercial segments- he continuously jabs his finger onto it, like he has the palsy or something. But at least he shows the "how to" side of things, and actually has tech tips that do not involve buying a sponsors product! (What a concept! The car rags need to take heed...)

stacy davids gears..
he still has to fawn some vendors.. but he does a good show.. and slows down and shows you the why's even if his shop has tools I'll never have, he also shows how you can use something handy to get "almost" the same outcome..

Gears is good but more or less the same advertizment whore mechanism as all the rest, but thats OK it is still gear head stuff and better than 88% of shows out there. I like that he has the readers rides and show cases actual builds and people and seems to be a "normal" guy.

I really dont like that sign/logo of thiers with the gEaRs,,, the lettering is tribal and kinda messed up hard to read, not easy on my old eye balls and not very catchy, somebody call marketing

BTW, before everybody asks, the collection of cars in the lead shot would likely have qualified for the show, but that entire collection has since been scrapped.)
I gotta take a pic of a single candidate, old farm truck out back 40, its all there.

Interesting link dinger thanks, is that one of those marauder merc's in the "collection" pic? hard to tell but it looks like a 2 door anyhow. shame

i think it's still possible to produce a good car show; Look at This Old House or Painting with Bob Ross. These were/are very good quality shows that go into deep detail about the subject matter. They don't just gloss over and play distracting crappy music in the background.
