New transmission

my nova will need a new trany soon and was looking at some tci's. I don't know if i should get the street fighter(uo to 450hp), super street fighter(up to 600hp), or the competition(does not say). The first two are manual/automatic but the competition is full manual. I dont mind shifting the gears but will it survive on the street? The reason i dont rebuild mine is it would cost too much. the guy wanted 600 labor, 250 clutches, 120 convertor, and 60 shift kit. Its just cheaper to buy a new one.

Try another rebuilder....you should be able to get a Turbo350 rebuilt for under $500, especially if you take it out. You think that the tci trannys are that cheap?

Although full manuals can be used on the street down shifts can be harsh and if the throttle isn't done correct it can be a problem.
