I’ve never used a planishing hammer either. However, I can see where it could be used in areas where trying to use a body hammer and dolly is impossible such as inside a quarter panel or inside a door skin. With the work I do a palm nailer is definitely going to be my next purchase and as you pointed out they’re fairly cheap. No excuse not to own one.
