Hey that looks good (other than the pixellation)! I can't put it that close to the ground with roads around here. The wheels (images) I've been trying out have all been 10 spokes or more and just didn't look right. It looks better with the 5 spoke Cragars you've put on it.

One of my brothers-in-law, who has been a hotrodder for several decades (he found a 454 and transmission for it, but the guy sold 'em the day before I got there), suggested I jack it up in the rear. I'm going to try to find some images of 5 spoke wheels with 50 series tires on them and see what it looks like with the nose just off the pavement and the tail at about stock height.

Thanks for showing me some good ideas!

What's with the coke bottles?

Anyway, it's been driving me nuts trying to figure out how you manage to paint these things without losing detail, highlights and shadows. I finally found a "colormap rotation" filter in gimp. Is that what you use? Attached are a couple of screenshots where I tried it on 71 c-10's image. Looks like I went too far into the red and ended up pinkish orange, but is the process right?
(Don't be raggin' on my plain desktop, either. I don't like a lot of eyecandy on the computer).

Thanks, Nightfire. I was hoping it wouldn't involve selecting parts of the car because I suck at all the selection tools.

BTW, what size are the wheels and tires on your truck right now?

Grouch, the coke bottles...You saved it....? (they are there cuz I bet coke sponsors it...The new coke zero stuff or whatever) (run adaware or spybot search and destroy...find the spyware it gave you)

Next time hit the prtscr key above insert and delete keys.......and then open gimp and select new and then edit>paste then select the pic with the lasso tool, edit>cut, then file>new,, edit>paste...then save... yikes sounds like alot but its pretty easy and alot faster than having to do the spyware scan....
I saved it the first time also ..the screenshot version looks better too

Yes, I saved it; it was just a standard JPEG. Whatever "spyware" was supposed to be attached to it either died in transition or is specific to MS Windows' image handling tools. (I don't use anything from MS). If there is anything embedded within the JPEG, it's not showing up here. Gimp shows it as having a single layer, too.

What do you get with a screenshot? What's the original URL that you visited to get that image?

Payback time...

Bwahaha! I figured out how to use the "paths" selection tool thingy. Well, the basics at least; I still can't twist the little handles on the anchor points to make the lines curve any sensible way. But anyway, here are some shots of your truck with the background selected out.
