grouch your still using gimp? |

Funny you should mention an oval; the way I came up with that previous grill was to create a new layer overlaying half of a big grill. See attached.
Yes, I use gimp. |

grouch that looks way better than a half oval!! get some vette bumpers and that thing would look sick!!
Bonuts. 2 versions, same paint scheme as the S10, tried to get as close to the S10's colors as I could, gave you a gas cap, closed the trunk, nothing fancy... hope the wife will see your vision now...

yep ps6 is good,
Thats what I've been using since I formatted week or two ago.. (your latest nova pic by me was made with ps6) ps7 has more filters, but I think you can download plugins or somethin if needed....all the basic good stuff is there on 6 though. |

Bonuts, 6 is fine! I just did your car in 5!! Elkys right, 7 and CS have way more filters and bells and whistles, but all the basics have been the same since Pshop4. you can download filters for all of them, but i think pshop 6 filters will be harder to find now that it is 2 versions behind....

Thanks man,Ive been talking to Nightrider through PMs for a while. I tried to give a candy apple red, I didn't know what flames to put on or dechroming it or lowering it any. I figured out how to use the mask on PS. It makes it a TON easier for us guys with laptops!

when you do the color, are you using transparency? Or do you use layer adjustments like "overlay" and "Hardlight". it looks like you do the color in its own layer, each layer has an adjustment, which defaults to "normal" overlay will keep the colors hue, but add transparency to the color. when placing a color over white, its hard to get metallic, what you might try (and this is tricky and hard to explain). but you can create a metallic layer, basically you need a metallic sample (image search this) then make the metallic layer the same shape as the color layer, over lay the metallic on the car, then the color on the metallic. I have found it is much easier to get a metallic look when you put a light color over dark... Hope that helps!!

Ive just been doing the desaturate and then put a new layer of color on top and adjust the transperancy til I get the color I want. I never thought of doing the metallic like that, Ill have to try that later when I play around with it next time. Thanks dude

Looks good nightrider, Id try flames coming from the front or coming from the scoop on the side.
