I like the cones, square headlights dont do it for me...

I did another before I go to bed. took every other tooth out of the 54 grille
frenched the headlights.
put turn signals down in the outer holes of the bumper, you know, you could do cones and put square headlights behind the bumper holes. but make the headlights big enough to fill the hole, making the headlights look flush, instead of square...

Heh - knocking some teeth out gives it some attitude. I'm going to try putting that grill over the original bumper and see what happens.

I wonder if some hide-away headlights would work where the teardrop vents used to be. It would have to be some that rotated 180 degrees instead of just pop-ups. They could rotate outwards with the axis vertical. Maybe put some pointy parking lights in the ends of the cones.

I've been looking at Buick grilles and anything from 1946 to 1954 looks like it would work. Then again, I might be able to just bend some 1" O.D. chrom tubing and make one.

im sure you can find mechanisms that rotate 180, didnt the 65 rivieria have those? Iam also pretty sure you can find something like that on some 70's fiats or triumph sports cars.. cant remember the model right now..

the grille on tht photo looks great, it looks just like the 54 grille with missing teeth!!

Got a 67 Stingray you want to sell real cheap?

I checked out the Buicks from '46 to '56. The grille changed a lot in '55, so you grabbed the last that had the right look. Wish that car-nut site used thumbnails.

even on a fast connection carnut sucks.. I like it, but you are right thumbnails would make it alot easier than the "grab bag style" he has now.. then again, he probably have more people ripping him off the otherway too...

If the hit counters on there are functional and accurate, they seem very low for the quality of photos available. My suspicion is that the lack of convenient navigation (thumbnails as teasers) is to blame.

Hey, would stainless steel tubing be suitable to make a grille? The bumper can be rechromed but finding a Buick grille in good shape could be a problem.

Truckshc..see thats what I am talking about.. thats nice you got the before? so we can try it too?
also, in this thread we prefer it you attach the images. once you get like 10 or 11 inline images the pages start loading slow and funky...

nice to see your sticking around though..

I never did like that look of the tires stuffed way up in the fenderwells and the body laying right on the ground. It looks like something is seriously broken or like those stamped metal wind-up cars from the 40s and 50s or somebody in a drug stupor with half closed eyes. Naturally, each to his own.

The bathtub Nash starts out by hiding its wheels, so its a good candidate for that treatment.

I like the fat tires and wheelie bar on that Nash; they remind me of HemmiGremmie's tubbed Gremlin. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/jour...15&action=view
