Yep, i went there that night you linked it...I read the tutorial on gradients..I liked your chameleon paint you had done on a car and i got curious.

I entered contests there before, never won. Gots LOTS of ideas there too. the forums are good too to see what the current "trends" are..i'll have to find my 2005 "el camino" I made for contest 18.. you might like it...

dang that looks good crazy, how did you make his car look like a rendering (less life like, but still life like cartoonish is what I mean)....thats what i was missing a big-a** blower poppin out the hood, whats wrong wif me

Im tuckerd out for the night, just got in from doing my passenger inner fender, it wasnt tucked under the outershells lip on the inside and was rubbing (rubbed since I lowered it with those clamps), finally got to me and i hadda fight with that PITA. No mo rubbing i hope, I'll find out tomorrow checked to see how my clamps and bolts were holdin up while i was under there, theyre still holdin up strong, like new

I ran out of time or I would have cartooned it. Basically, I put the car at SEVERE rake then I filled in the gap between the ground and the door so it still looked like it had the same ride height. I then "SKEWED" the car back so it looked like it was leaning. all of the "elements" are off the web. (google image search rules!) I used an older picture of MM's car so I had to add the stripes and the SS grill. The engine was a big picture, so I just didnt resize it to make it look like it was HUGE! the wheels, smoke, flames and pipes are pretty much how I found them, except I turned the contrast UP, so they would "match" each other. I also turned the contrast up on the car so the yellow would be brighter. the windows are just a simple gradient with a "slight" transparency so you can "almost" see inside (note the steering wheel is on the wrong side!)

Hey guys -- just a quick post to let you know I'm keeping my eye on these "virtual kustomz" discussions. I know it's been previously recommended that we open up a new forum for threads like this one, and I had said that we didn't have enough posting volume on this one topic to justify a whole new forum. It looks like this is becoming a very popular subject, and we may soon have enough volume to justify that new forum.

We could potentially add a new "virtual kustomz" sub-forum to the Lounge. Or, we could add a general "graphic design" type of forum that would including some basic tutorials on photoshop (making virtual kustomz, altering car pics, basic graphic design skills, details on uploading pics to the board). Or, we could do a more general "hot rod art" forum that would include all of the above plus more general hot rod art posts. Or, another solution. Bottom line is that we're starting to generate enough posting volume on this one subject that we should figure out a way to incorporate these threads into the board forum structure in an organized manner. Either that, or a "let's argue about the war in Iraq" forum .

If you have suggestions or recommendations for incorporating these "virtual kustomz" threads into the board forum structure, please post them in the Site Suggestions and Help forum. Please don't post any suggestions in this thread, as it will probably have a ton of posts very quickly, so any suggestions for a new forum will get lost in the mix. Ok enuff of the butt kissing, Anyone have any have any programs that they would reccommend to photochop with? Im having some problems since the trial on my paint shop pro 9 went out, I didn't care for it to much.

YEAH JON! I was nervous you were dumping this one too! I made a sugesstion in the other forum...

Brad, just go for the best. Photoshop. im sure you are web savvy guy who can find an "older" copy of it. I have been using Pshop since the beginning, I have never used anything but. I have heard that Corel Draw is a good program too.. If you hunt for pshop, try and find version 5 or up. believe it or not I still use 5 on my PC and I have 7 on my mac. I want CS but its ALOT of $$... and the others still work for me..
