.
Nice avatar mike, it really does look like an old photo of the truck.
Hey paul, I finally got ahold of a digi cam and just took some pics of my truck since you wanted a better pic. The pics wouldn't attach to this thread, so I put them in my photo album. Im still not sure if I what I want to do with the mirrors and door handles about shaving them or not. I would like to shave the tailights as I plan on puting some sort of custom ones in my roll pan, still haven't decided what kinda lights though. And Im not sure if I want to paint it like the one in my avatar or go with a metallic black. Brad Last edited by WakBordr7387; 07-22-2005 at 12:30 PM. Reason: Stupid attachments |

Alright thanks dude.
I need ya'll opinions on something for rlackey's car Im drawing. There is a cover that goes over the back tires on the 54 belair like his. Im going off of a couple different pictures to get the body lines and details correct. Do you think I should draw it with the cover on or off? Heres the pics of the cars Im going off of. Brad EDIT: also do yall think when I cut the top off do you think I should leave the little vent windows in, or do you think rich would want it as one big peice of glass for the front windows? if memory serves Rich is kind of an "old school" guy right?? If so i'd say leave the fender skirts on and bring them down to the level of the chrome strip on the rear fender...
here is a picture of a fairlaine with a retractable roof..in order to go for "realism" I think you should "split" the roof so logistically it will fit in the trunk more images of that fairlaine and the roof retracting can be seen HERE Brad the green photo is good, i m gonna do my chop using that car, so if you can makke one drawing based on it, that will help. I will do what HK and I did for 38 specials desoto, and use the drawing as the background for the chop.. |

Yup, Rich is an old school guy, I sent him 3 copies of Ol Skool Rodz cause he cant get them there. I dont know if he'll run it with skirts, I dont even think he has skirts...

Thanks for the link, that will help me get the right idea of how to chop it up. It would be easier to get it if only rich were still online, oh well.
For the drawing, Im going with a 3/4 that way you can see all the body lines better and get a better look at the interior. Here what I got so far, this pic is with a cameraphone. I drew it with the top intact, so I could get the body lines in line without the rest of the car looking goofy. Will this do for the background? Brad |

the pic would look like this, but a little more cleaned up. I thought old skool guys liked skirts, but mike seems to have more knowledge on what rich is doing!!

Alright then, It looks like Ill have to draw a couple more at different angles then. I think I will leave the skirts off then. I forgot how long it used to take me to draw a good pic, Im going on 3 hours with just this first one, and still have alot more to do to it

Nice drawing Wackbro, those look excellent...Id wind up with a out of proportion box if i tried
ground up resto, from junkyard dog to almost done on jackstands..(front rim was hard to skew i gave up )

Thanks man, for those wheels have you tried going to edit-->freetransform? I read about doing that for rims in several tutorials and it seems to work pretty good for me.

nice you got a knack for getting rid of rust..
your AVI is whack! you should have had your hair hanging down and stuff falling out of the elky.. |
|
||||||
|
yep, free transform and skew to get close to the right lookin angle.
LOL, I like my avi, i can read it when im drunk now (i should have put the background normal and only me and my car upside down, now that woulda been a trip) that car was a tuff one to get even color...basically painted it by hand then changed the color

when doing rims, If you cant get an exact match on the angle then use a full front shot, I use "distort" because you can skew and scale in one shot, and thats easier than going back and forth..
elky that shadows on the car look good..did you just sample the colors and then paint them on? I have done that before what you can do to "blend" the new color in with the old is use FILTERS-BLUR-Gaussian Blur, then you can select how big of a blur you want. note that you will get differnt effects if you do a gaussian blur while selected, than if you do the blur on the entire layer.. I prefer the latter.. |

Uh...nice avatar elky. Whats up with that?

I defy gravity! Thought you knew.
![]() Actually, I wanted something different that makes you look twice... *Ohh, cgg your ?...... I used the hue and made it almost white, then I smudged it all even then color changed then smudged the color again for the bodylines and shadows that were part way visable..turned out better than I thought besides the missing front turned the chrome black with the hue too..
