Newb here looking for some opinions.

First let me say that I don't have a cool street rod, I just have my 2002, laser red, V6 Mustang. Hey, its a Mustang and I love it heh.
I have been wanting to add somthing to it's paint job for some time and now I am getting close to doing somthing about it. The problem is I am not really sure what I want to add. I know I want somthing down the sides. As to the design <shrug>, I have no clue as to what would look really cool. I do love the idea of having the Chameleon type paints used.
I have done a lot of reading on this board and alot of people seem to really like the Ghost or Phantom flames. But would painting flames on a v6 'Stang be kinda funny? I would like somthing to stop people and go "Now thats pretty cool", but not be gaudy.
Anyway any opinions on design/color schemes would be greatly appreciated. My car, as stated above, is the stock Laser Red color. Also, what should i expect in the terms of cost if I take it to my local Hot Rod custom shop, I dont want to be suprised heh. Thanks alot!

you asked for an opinion and i have one...

i don't know what colour would go good with your car but if you want something really nasty that will turn heads that hardly anybody ever does, then put some wicked flames on your car but start from the back and run them up to the front. your car's gonna be all show and no go so it may as well make a statement IMO.

JB

p.s. if you go with chromalusion paint or something like that get ready to spend some big $$

my suggestion would be to search around on the web. take a look at what other people have done to their latemodels, or even earlier cars. if you like it, then bookmark the page. if you dont, just remember it so that way you know what you dont want.
after the search, you should have an idea what looks good to YOU. thats whats important. after all, youre the one who owns it and makes the payments.
my dad told me one time: who really gives a **** what other people think about yur car? if they dont like it, either sell it to em to let them change it, or tell em to kiss your ...".
my dads cool.

Cool thxs for the replys. Another thought I just came up with would be instead of ghost flames or any type of flames, how about the mustang horse logo ghosted on both doors. Hmm its a thought heh.

My shop recently did custom jobber on a 2003 stang. Candy apple red, tribal ghost flames down the side and the rear bumber we air brushed a burning horse and headless rider coming out of a lake of fire.

I've got some advice about not getting laughed at. Maybe replace the V6 side emblems with GT emblems, or just take them off all together. Also change the exhaust tip to a look-a-like dual exhaust outlet? just some cheap suggestions.
