Want to say Hi to everyone, and thanks for the great place to relieve my boredom. I ugly new to this place (pretty don't fit right). I'm here to whine alittle and hope I get some simpathy, I have a 30 Desoto Gee who could guess, well it's sitting out in my garage and all I can do is go out and look at it, I shattered my color bone and had an operation in April last year in which it was removed, that went great, but than the Hospital decided I was getting well to soon and gave me an infection which almost killed me and put me in the hospital for over a month with numerous operations later and a year of not being able to use my right arm, the weather is getting better and finally so am I, I can't wait to get out there and start working on my car again. I have sand blasted the body and frame, boxed in the frame, put on a TPI mustange front end, chevy posi rear, rebuilt 318 Dodge (I know shame on me but I like Dodge), beafed up 904 trans, and got some chrome goodies for it, I have repaired most of the rust in the body and welded in a steel floor, my next job this year will be filling in the top, MAN I CAN'T WAIT. whine whine whine!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like you have had a pretty rough go of it. My advise is that you should sit and relax for the rest of your life. As for that old bucket in your garage, I will do you a big favour and take it off your hands. That way you don't have to worry about it.

Not buying any of this, are you?

Anyways, glad you are getting better. Use the time that you have to talk to this group of great people and compair ideas with them.

Well, well,well, another DeSoto afficianado. I have a 38 Desoto 4 door (suicide) with spit rear window and a humpback trunk. Sorry to hear you've been bad off. I've been out of sorts this weekend myself. I did some major welding and grinding this sat. in my garage and I think all those welding fumes got to me. Next time I'll open the garage door even if it is in the 30's outside. Whew! It's been nasty this weekend trying to get better. Sounds like your about as far along with yours as I am mine. Plus wer'e the same age. Your avitar looks more like a Ford though.

Looks like the same year and model as mine, are you streetrodding it or staying original?
Mine isn't much further than what you see, I have gotten all the rust out from sand blasting it, but one rear fender has a hole in it and may try to find new ones, would like to see more of yours

Well, it's not exactly mine....

I have a small restoration shop in the backyard and it has been entrusted to my care. It is a 30, same as yours. First year for DeSoto as far as I know. It's a Straight Eight so I guess it's kinda rare. The car has a good history, the present owner's uncle (or great uncle) bought it new and it has been handed down through the family.

It runs and drives, pretty smokey and pretty loose!, but it's all there. Minimal rust on the car, but all four fenders are really beat and have been welded and bondo'd several times over. That's gonna be a challenge......

As it stands now, it's gonna get a "street restoration"; that is looking really good in and out, all the mechanical done, but not a full boogie body-off show car.

It's gonna be a while before I get it in the shop because I'm in the process of doing a '47 Chrysler Town&Country "Woodie" convertible.

I'm plagued with Mopars!!!! Help Me!!!!!

Oh yeah, as far as the fenders, if you get any leads or if you get better ones and want to part with yours, let me know!

Hey, De Soto Guy. Got one also. Mines 32, 3-window coupe. At least you stayed Mopar with your's. I have 4:71 blown 383 SBC in mine. Here's the web address for a guy who makes a lot of Mopar fiberglass. http://www.angelfire.com/ok/32plymouth/ I'm running his 3 inch wider rear fenders on my coupe. By the way I've got a set of Mopar (32) front fenders (steel) in great shape. Will sell reasonable if they help. Welcome to the site.

30...I feel your pain. I had my shoulder replaced last July and still can't use my left arm and I'm left handed. Did not get a thing done last year on the car or the house and have tons of work to do around here this year. Guess I'm gonna see how busy those "one armed paper hangers" are. Hang in there and hopefully it will get better.
