ok i got it home . i went to the truck stop wow ! i left with all new fuel system from tank-sender - fuel lines- pump carb rebuild kit . also wheel cyl kits and a master kit . i found a new complete harness still in package on passenger floor in the truck already .so today it starts i dumped the oil added fresh + filter , and dumped a bunch of marvel down the manifold then gently rocked the engine back n forth . then pulled the plugs and rolled engine over a few times by hand . pulled carb apart found lots of varnish realized they gave me a 6cyl carb kit before i opend parts box ! so i was gentle with the gaskets and accelerator pump after 3 hours the carb was clean enough to assemble and reinstall . hooked up jumpers the left blinker was on and working cool ! turned key the engine spun over a few times i played with the light switch , and noticed what looked like sparks near temp guage then came some smoke !! so i yanked the jumpers off and kept a fire watch . now i know why there a new harness
oh yeah the harness was purchased in 91 from what po said thats when it was parked !!! 22 years ago !

Bummer, but remember this is a VERY simply wire harness to make a new one from scratch is not a big deal. Or to buy another, it isn't going to be a whole lot. It isn't like a late model car with a thousand miles of wire, if you are keeping it basically as from the factory without a bunch of additions it is real easy to work with.

Thanks Brian yep the harness is very simple thankfully . but I am glad to have the new one . makes it that much easier . i'm thinking adding a relay setup for headlights . the gen and regulator both work pretty good , I have the ammeter backwards . added fresh plugs and wires , timing light reattach vacuum and whoohoo !! she runs good got some get up ! the brakes are kinda working .
