Just wanted to post some pics of the blast cabinet I built to refinish my buddies wheels. Total cost was under 84 dollars. Funny how many friendsyou get when you build one of these!

Actually, we should probably move this thread from the "intro" section over to the garage/tools section. I think a lot more people would see this nice cabinet there.

I'm also loving the hand sander strapped to the side of the sand container. I'm assuming that this is to prevent bridging of the media? I have that problem with my little portable (Sears) blaster and I'm stealing your idea immediately.

See, ya learn some new trick every day here at HR.Com.

Thanks for posting up the pics.

ThankS!!

I had a problem with silica sand bridging and got sick of kicking the jug to break the bridge. $9.00 sander, 2 - $1.75 band straps- PRICELESS. People laugh at it but they like the simplicity of it's workings. But i don't use the sander for aluminum oxide, for some reason it feeds fine. Might just be the smaller media i guess. Thanks again.

Fine just fine.

I got sick of peopl paying for something so simple. The only parts that i had to buy were the 20lb presure tank, small sander (vibration device), dead man valve and some hose fittings. Odds and ends can be bought at the hard ware store. I have mock plans to anyone who wants them. I just copied the idea from the net and made it work to my needs. The pattend one is a siphon unit, i prefer pressurized it's faster! By the way the grate was two shelves from an abanded fridge. and the air evac come from a old shop-vac that came back to life. You can get the drums at any oil/fuel place for around 25 clams. The gloves are a pair of chemical type that the wife sewed extensions on to, or i could have bought the HF one for 6$ . Thanx for the compliment.

Old thread, but couple questions on your vibrator setup.

1. Does it work well? Im using Al oxide and am having bridging issues on the same tank.

2. is there a piece of rubber between the sander and the tank? Does this dampen the vibration any?
