I'm from Central Florida and have numerous toys to enjoy in this great weather state. Just thought I would let everyone know that if you have a vehicle insured through one of the classic car insurance companies for a low price....If you don't keep it in a locked garage....there is no insurance on it. If there is a fire, tornado, hurricane or vandalism your claim will be denied if it is not in a locked garage.

I talked with Grundy about it and they said........ "No Locked Garage....No Insurance coverage". Oh...you will have insurance coverage when you are driving it but not when it is parked in your yard or under a carport.

Check with your insurance company!!!!

My two car garage is being built as I write this warning.

No Locked Garage....Claim denied!!!!

Couldn't figure out a way to edit my 1st post. So....I'll add a couple of things. If your vehicle is stolen on your property and not in a locked garage.....your claim will be denied!!! I think that vehicles inside of a locked trailer would be denied all claims too.

It's worth the time to check with your insurance company. I don't know about you but I can't afford to lose over $50,000.00 on the two vechicles that are currently sitting under a carport.

Food for thought!!!!

Its a good Idea to read ALL the small print on any kind of insurance coverage,, don't assume anything,, they have all kinds of gimmicks to cover their butts and denie coverage, not only automobiles,,,

I have all my stuff covered by State Farm,, during the winter I have them change the policy over to a parked coverage,, and that covers anything that could happen to the car other than a collision,, much cheaper,,, but you don't dare drive it with parking coverage alone,,,

The vehicles under carports is vehicles I intend to flip....so that's why I'm building a second 2-car garage.
