Sorry....feel like an idiot asking this but I couldn't find the answer.

New to hot rodding and in search of my first vehicle. Trying to learn all the terminology. I am currently looking at a 40 Lasalle. Here is description:

Sledded Out Rod:
1940 cadillac lasalle street rod powered by 455 motor rebuilt tranny chevelle 1968 poss rear end, sleadded out, shaved door handles, ect, ect. everthing works, even updated wire harness.

What does the seller mean by " Sledded Out"?

That's a reference to "lead sled" since the old timers, Barris, Winfield, etc. used lead instead of bondo and most of the stock ornamentation was removed and the holes filled. A lot of the old lead sleds sat low to the ground, no hydraulics, and rear fender skirts.

sledded out, is slammed to the ground ,shaved handles , chopped top. and the car must be heavy chunky steel. as in Merc, Caddy etc. you can not lead sled a pinto!
