newbie to rodder posts

Hello everyone, well lil bout 35 years young..been pullin wrenches since i was old enough to hold Learnt alot from my dad, working in his shop..out on my own now..backyard wrenchin mostly..midnight auto just seems to be when everyone calls me when something is a emergency. open minded kinda guy that likes to learn. id rather do the job rite the first time then do it 3-4 times wrong..and cost a pile of
ive got a few projects mostly on the truck is never ending it seems ..plauged with valvetrain issues in a 1974 454 outta a rv= bbc # my 96 gmc 781 heads 280 h cam ..stuffed another 454 in a s10 blazer..also seems to be plauged with valvetrain maybe its just the lead foot ..ball bearing ankle issue..not so much the weak components. Anyways..i joined to ask a few tech questions..And enjoy reading the other posts ..been veryhelpful in the problem solving department over the years..i troubleshoot lotsa stuff ..darn near daily. keen ear for funkey noises and what the possibility they may be..Log home builder by tech by i am by no means a certified mechanic...and dont ever intend to challenge the test..i just prefer to learn and hopefully lend a hand to persons who obviously have less knowledge than myself. expert advice.

Thanks..what would you guys here call a rod ?56 belair? 74 thunderbird rag? 55 mga ? all 3 of these projects need some serious
