I built it myself after readilng alot of articles. found alot the hard way but it was fun. buildilng a second one now because i enjoyed the challenge. got 8 cluthes in the direct clutch, 5 in the forward, 3 in the overrun, 3 in the overdrive, and wide band. larger servo and valves for more preasure. will enjoy reading and helping with qsuestions. bought the nova new. wanted the overdrive since i am playihg with it and plan on going to car shows.

i retired a little over a year ago, and needed a plan, since i have this toy, i got going to enjoy it more. not to old to learn something new, went for it. If i new that building these transmission would be so much fun, i would of done this sooner. still learning more. If i can do it, no reason that you young guy can do it. the problem is findilng these trannies. I've looked for several month and go a couple of good ones. I should post a picture of the nova. if you study the parts of thse 200 4r, you can see how to improve them. My nova runs real good. if it quits, i'm going to deal with it. got about $500.00 in the rebuild, and you do not need any special tool. built it in my utility room in the basement.

seperator plate 200 4r

after dong a couple of these trannies, i found out that you realy shouldn't drill out the plate. just put in the larger boost valves and it should do you good. Make sure to put in the drain plug while you got it torn down. My next trick it to cut down and weld two pans together to make a deeper pan and use a 700 r4 filter. see no end to the things you can do for these 200 4r trannies.
