If your valvetrain will handle that, you'd find that cam will really wakes up your 327. If not, a simple valve spring swap and maybe some spring seat shims to dial in the seat and open pressures.
Worth a call to Lunati. They'll help you with the details.
Needs to be degreed in for best results. I like to break in flat tappet cams using reduced spring pressure for the first bit of running time. (remove shims and or use old stock springs) Then change springs or add shims as required for correct installed height, change the oil and reset the valve lash and you're good to go.
A ZDDP anti wear additive like GM EOS is a good idea.
I think you'll really like that cam in your 327.

What is the rear gear ratio and rear tire diameter?
What is the max amount of valve lift your springs will handle?
Are you willing to replace the valve springs if nessessary?
Thinking Lunati cam #401A1LUN
This a state of the art Ultradyne Street/strip/oval tight lash design. You can get it from Lunati or Bullet Cams.
Needs 4.10's very responsive in a 327 4 speed with good compression and heads. You'll feel like your feets are half way off the ground.
It will have the idle you are looking for and a lot more power than your present cam without getting carried away. Will need a modified distributor advance curve.

|NAIRB||Use a Comp 280 mag. It's tried and true, and it has a rumpety idle while still being streetable.|

Go with a comp xtreme energy cam similar size or a comp magnum cam. You will get a little lopey idle but still get good vacuum. If all else fails get the comp thumpr flat tappet cam but the previous ones will give you better horsepower and torque. It will give you a nice choppy idle and not be too much problems. If you go with anything bigger expect some carb tunning headaches.
