Hey guys....I am just about to get a 1965 impala ss on trade just for taking a few dents out of a newer BMW! Boy am I stoked!!! I already went and looked at the car...it is a project, but a good one- I basicly just looked at it for rust in the floors and trunk to start-there is rust in the front floor pans, only because there has been sitting water from a wet floor mat on both front.....the rears are great! I have never replaced pans before, but I am very willing and able to do it,plus I have lots of cool friends to help if need be,but i would like to learn and do it myself...so-please...someone walk me through this, and I will start ASAP!....thanks......I have pix of the car.....im in heaven.....cant wait to get started-so-where do i start?
Hey-thanx for responding...I looked at the car again yesterday- the guy had wet floor mats in the car so it looks like my best bet is to do the entire floor....probly the trunk also...not sure til I get the car here....I know its going to be a project. is it easier to do just the foot pans? what do i need to look for? thanx.
At the time I had the floors in my 65 SS convert, I could only find individual pans; the labour costs were more than if I had used a full (2-piece is what I have seen) pan. Thats the way I would go next time.
