Not only you but I would imagine lots of other folks because a heck of a lot of perspective buyers have seen how they can expect to be treated by Eaton!
Nice compressor=Quincy (Yep I'm biased but I have a darn good reason to be ).
Good deals on Quincys can be found at Northern tool.

|vettefan77||Wow. Old post, but i am in the market for a nice compressor. I will NOT be buying an eaton anything strictly based upon Matt Cains actions. Glad I found this thread first - thanks for having the balls to write such a post!|

Are there reasons why a person(s) from a company can't live--and work in China to oversee the quality output of the product(s) being produced?
.17 cents an hour vs. $24/hr to produce a product is too hard to ignore and it's understandable why a company may choose this route.
This way the company still produces a quality product, while saving enormously on production costs, and the managers still make over 100,000 while doing very little actual work.
Why isn't this happening?

I'm not sure if this is already posted-I didn't read all 12 pages-but this is off Eaton's website. y question is "ate all those little American flag stickers made in the USA,too?
Product Disclosure Form
To compare "apples to apples" on where a product is made can be very challenging. We have attached a Product Disclosure Form that you can print off and take to your air compressor providers to have them complete so you will know where the product and its components are manufactured. Just because you see the American Flag sticker on the front of the unit does not mean it was actually made in the USA. There are many factors that you need to be aware of before purchasing a unit. 1. Where the parts were manufactured? 2. Warranty? 3. What are the replacement parts going to cost for the unit you are purchasing? We have seen 5 HP compressor pumps that are over $1,000.00 for a rebuild kit. We use international compressor pumps built in one of our own factories. This is why you see "EATON" in our castings. One out of every 100 compressors is built in the USA. We strive to give Americans jobs (the majority of our piston-type unit's components are made here in the USA) but have to also keep PREMIUM quality at a reasonable price with a 5-YEAR BUMPER-TO BUMPER Warranty on all parts - NOT PRO-RATED!!! Our quality and price is the best on the market. Our goal is to beat our competition name-brand and non-name brand. Have your compressor company complete this form and if you have any questions about what they have filled out on the form, you can call me personally.
Starting October 28th, 2008, We are putting an American flag sticker on the items that are made in the USA. For example, our tanks are made in the USA, So we have placed an American Flag Sticker on the tank that states this tank is manufactured in the USA. These stickers will be placed on every item that is made in the USA. This gives the consumer a clear direction when purchasing our compressor on how much of the complete unit is made in the USA.
I can only think of 2 companies that build compressors here in the USA.
Ultimately, we encourage our customers and potential customers to compare our product to any product in the industry. You the buyer, should know exactly what you are buying and from whom you are buying it from.

Eaton non USA
After serving 21 years in the Marines and belonging to the Carpenters Union for five years, everything I buy these days has to be " Made in the USA". Eaton don't like it and now he is starting a new company with a "silent partner" from China. Must have forgot he lives in the USA. Eaton or any of the other manufactures making things over seas have lost my business.

Can't speak for anyone else but I'm not too thrilled with my 5hp/60gal one stage from Eaton. I took delivery in December 2011 directly from Eaton and I'm on my fourth warranty pump already! Thats four pumps in 8 months!
The first pump had a valve stick which fried one of the three cylinders. Two pumps were pigs and took almost 10 minutes to pressurize from 0 to 135psi. The heads leaked no matter how tight the head bolts were on those two. Now I'm on pump number 4 and I've got about 6 good hours of use. No heads are leaking but it doesn't come up to pressure as fast as Eaton says it should. This pump does 0 to 135 in 5:45. Not the "just under 5 minutes" I was told.
When I called about pump number 2 leaking oil and air from all three heads Matt told me to give it a couple hundred hours of break-in-time and they should seal right up. Yeah, ok. So I called back later asked for the piston service and warranty manager whom immediately sent out the 3rd pump after I explained the problem. Did I mention I had to drill out bolt holes for the pump base to have fit the tank that was sent by Eaton in the first place.
You don't always get what you paid for. I will say that the replacement pumps were sent promptly. Although it doesn't make up for having to assemble and disasemble 4 freaking pumps when I dropped $1300 on something that I work on more than my projects!!!My head hurts now.

I have allways considered Eaton products to be a good product, because they were. Being made in america ,with good quality control, you could depend on what you were buying to be good quality.
Made in china is a drag, but if his products are still good quality , people will buy them , and thats the bottom line. Cain needs to take a chill pill before he has a coronary and takes a dirt nap because of all the stress.

I wonder if there has been anymore action tried by the Eaton company? I kinda get the feeling that Mr. Cain may have jumped in before contacting the PR dept, (or even the legal dept) and is now in HOLY S#!T mode. He is pretty much fighting a losing battle, IMHO, as this has been tried here twice before, and lost.
If it is still going forward, GOOOOO JON!!!! As you have shot down two previous attemts at this, may as well have another. You know, 2 more wins and you make "ace", lol!! Gonna have to paint some "kills" on the fender of your ride, lol!!

|deckofficer||I'm guessing that Eaton's PR department is out to lunch on this one. Going after a forum with a perfect track record defending frivolous lawsuits at the same time alienating a loyal membership of over 100,000 aftermarket automotive purchasers. Someone at Eaton is using their head for nothing more than a hat rack.|
|01-18-2012 07:54 PM|
|whyholdback||Hey Eaton, good way to lose all my future business.|
|01-18-2012 01:38 PM|
All I can say is you got balls! If it were me back in the Streetbeasts debacle, I would have folded like a house of cards. That was before my time here at Hotrodders, and now with Eaton, at least this time I can include myself as a contributor for your defense. Free Speech is worth defending.

Hot air from eaton
with all the hot air coming from Eaton maybe they can put their mouths on my air hose and give me some CFMs
|01-17-2012 11:34 AM|
I guess my Eaton compressor will be headed to the junk yard. I don't want anything to do with Communist threats. I had enough during the Cold War, but I can do this again if I had to.

|DynaMike||Sorry for the spelling "Warranty"|

I'm in trouble
Check This out. As I discovered the 5 year "bumper to bumper" warrany is 2 years on motors and drives.
