I don't know about everything, but I'm going to say you're looking at Art Arfons and one of his Green Monster dragsters (possibly #5) around the late-50's or early-60's

It's only a 24 foot wheelbase. It's so narrow that the picture makes it look really long.

I bet the wheelbase on the straight truck that I used to take the driving test for my chauffeur's license when I was 18 was at least that long. It was a big tandem axle Chevy with a 427 in it.

Years later when they came out with the CDL nonsense I could have just taken all the written tests to be qualified to drive everything but no, I was building houses at the time and I was irritated at having to take the tests so I thought the heck with them and dropped down to a car license. (what a moron) One day I was three stories up cutting vents in a roof when I slipped. The only thing that saved me was a 2x4 that I had nailed on the roof where I got off the ladder, that was luck. I decided it was time to go back to trucking.

So I ended up taking my driving test in a big-nosed KW with a long sleeper pulling a 53 foot van trailer. The most insulting part of the whole thing was that I'm betting if I had a heart attack during the driving test that guy sitting there judging me wouldn't even have been able to move that rig out of the street. On the plus side he did only mark me off on one point, he thought that I stopped too close to the crosswalk. Those big long hoods can fool you, I wasn't that close but I didn't argue with him.
