chewyscool I got them on my truck this past weekend. They quieted down the drone of the exhaust I put on it 2 months ago. I used the same system I bought 10 years ago HeartThorb, but this time for some reason I got a terrible drone at crusing speeds. I'm happy with the final result, and thanks for the posts.

jimfulco If the openings are facing the engine, you'll get a little less noise, and flow will be reduced. Facing the outlet, more noise and more flow. Either way, it won't flow as well as a muffler with flush holes in an equally-sized inner flow tube.

BOBCRMAN@aol.com The perforations just let the sound/pressure waves expand into the outer chamber. The tone of the muffler can be changed by the number and placement of the slots or perforations.

Purple Hornies Anybody?

May be a dumb question but, inside the tube, the perferations only are open from one side? Are these reversable? My truck has a similar set with the perferations open to the rear of the exhaust and that is the only way that they could be installed. Does the sound just bounce around in the tubes entering from any direction? It would seem to me that the perferations should face the engine as to absourb some of the exhaust? Is this right?
