|Mirror Image||Im with all the other guys go with the urethane basecoat-clearcoat such as PPG or Dupont and be sure to use urethane primer as well|

I have used a lot of laquer, very easy to apply, hard to sand, polishes beautifully,will not stand the elements.
Some of the top show cars in the world are painted with laquer.
It`s not as hard on you to breath. But i`ll stick with BC-CC. ALSO

|adtkart||I used to use Laquer all of the time. Can't even get it here anymore. After going to BC/CC, wouldn't even want to try.|

Laquer is easy, but not as durable.
Most young painters have never painted topcoat laquer.
If your painting an everyday beater, I would use acrylic enamel,
it can be sanded smooth.
On a classic,hotrod, showcar etc. I would use a BC_CC sys.
Ofcourse with BC_CC you have twice the chance to get trash and runs and saggggs.
You might check with dupont, they used to have a sys. called 502
used a laquer base and enamel clear. and was easy to work with.

|firstname.lastname@example.org||I wouldn't consider using anything but catalyzed urethane. Easy to use, extremely durable, polishes great, and most importantly, in California, lacquer is illegal.|

|outlaw17||Laquer is for painting cars that Fred Flintstone would drive , you need to look into Basecoat /Clearcoat , its waaaay easier to use (in my opinion) and easy to fix flaws , its more money but its a much better product .|

Ive heard from several jobbers around twn that since Im a newbie I ought to go with lacquer because its easier to repairflaws and more forgiving then the others. Any suggestions???
