71 nova door skin

I am currently working on doing my first door skin for my 71 nova. I've been reading as many online articles as I can because this is my first time doing a skin. In one article it talks about the vent window and frame to skin gap. I am confused as I am not sure if this is something I need to worry about, and this is the only article I have seen mention this.
