Cape Cod Bob There should be an adjustment on the linkage closest to the tranny.Loosen it and put the lever in P and be shure the tranny is in P . Retighten and run the lever thru the gears to see if you get them allwith the motor off. You may need a more adjustable linkage available from Kugle.

Adjusting trans linkage

I have a 69 chevelle 305 with a th350 last year I upgraded to a th400(same linkage). Ever since then when i put the car in park the columm shift lever doesn't lock into position allowing me to take the key out.
