Ayuh,... With a 1/2" of cam lift,... Did you clearance the valve train,..??
Some or most Vortecs won't take the full 1/2"....

|345 desoto||If you DO have mechanical roller lifters with a hydraulic cam, either install hydraulic rollers (MY suggestion) or replace them with hydraulic rollers...|

This is rather amusing to me. You must be the third fellow in as many weeks who has come on here complaining about the noise in the valvetrain.
On the other hand, we have just as many fellows who come on and ask about putting a gear drive in the motor because they like the noise.
Like I said, it's just sorta funny how there ain't no pleasin' anybody anymore.....

noisy roller setup
ok folks hears my situation. I gotta 350 4 bolt main. .60 over 4 valve release flattop pistions, hyperutectic. true vortec heads 64cc, comp roller cam 500 lift, erson self aligning roller rockers, and crane pop up roller lifters. this setup is super noisy. clickety clackety . even out of the exhaust you can hear it.
how can i quiet this setup down a whole lot. i know complete silence is out the window, but beter than what it is now. this is my first roller setup. turns up great though.
