joe_padavano Putting an LS in a 78 Firebird is EXACTLY the same as putting one in a second gen Camaro. That's been done many, many times. Search for articles and parts for that swap.

bigolblackie I hope you get some replies,5.3 in trucks are good motors Im been told. My towtruck has the 6.0 and thyer allmost the same,good luck.

can any one help me find some info on puting a chevy 5.3 in my 78 firebird

like what i will need what i will have to make mods on ?

will the stock chevy wiring work ?

www.fbody.com may have info, as will the various LS engine sites. Google is your friend.

Just a "FYI", a lot of guys run the Edelbrock p/n 7118. It is an MSD ignition controller that also comes w/a dual plane intake for the 5.3L intake for something like $650.

With the carb, MSD controller, headers and the stock cam, this deal will make over 320 HP, and about 350 ft/lb. With a cam, you will make more HP obviously. You'll need springs to go w/the cam.

HI i wont to no if any one has put a 2004 chevy 5.3 L in a 1978 firebird ?
and if so what do i need besides a 5.3 and the wiring harness
And how hard whas it
