|email@example.com||The 1/2" manifold spacers are needed when using 331/354 heads on a 392. The 331/354 are identical "small blocks" except for the bore. The 392 is a little taller "big" block. The heads from the smaller engines reportedly flow better than the 392 heads so it was popular to use them on the 392, thus the need for the spacers.|

We ran mostly blown motors so there were only a few brands of manifolds available.
There are spacers for the intake available from the hemi site above. I think they are 1/2 inch thick and allow a 354 manifold to be used on the 392. It's been along time but I made a bunch of these in school that we passed around the dragster guys in the 60's and 70's. I can't remember what it was about the heads but we used either version with or without spacers as required. Make sure you get them sealed up good. I think the hemi site has some identification numbers available. Most everything else fits. If you have the 300 heads you should have adjustable rocker arms. Very rare even in the old days. they are much easier to adjust than adjustable push rods.

|firstname.lastname@example.org||392's are bigger blocks w/ 1/2" taller head surfaces. They aren't that much bigger so if the 354 fits a 392 should too. I see a lot of early fords with them so it must be fairly easy to do. Surprisingly the hemis only weigh 50 or so # more than a Chevy big block.|

I am biulding a 32 ford coupe and also in the process of rebiulding a 1956 dual quad hemi out of a 56 300B. My question is about size. Are the 354 and the 392 the same size block ? Does any one have accurate measurements for the 354. If so I can compare size requirements to chevy or the 392, Thanks !!!! I am tring not to move the front cross member if I don't need to.
