|sbchevfreak||Most of the time, it is better to replace the aluminium/plastic rads, as the "crimp fingers" that hold the tanks on tend to break or lose clapming ability if you try to reuse them.|

|SonnyFaust||i did check the cap it looked good to me. i was also thinking maybe it was just the temp sensor as well but i popped the hood and it was hooootttt. so i figured that it was correct. i did however decide to take your advice on the radiator. It wasnt leaking all the fluid was clean. i had already flushed the system when i put the waterpump on. As it turns out the radiator was apparently bad because i decided just to put a new one in it and its doing good now thanks for the help. i didnt know radiators could go bad unless they busted. i thot they just get dirty. idk im fairly inexpirienced. but thanks and have a blessed day.|

|rtyauch301||have you tried flushing the radiator buildup can cause an engine to run hot are you loosing any water or is it always full something people always over look is the radiator cap the springs can become weak they will open way to soon you will loose water causing it to run hot.... also id recommend replacing the temperature sensor n body chevy Malibu were pron to having faulty temp sensors causing false readings.. i know its not a malibu but a lot of sensors interchange|

2002 zr2 overheating problems.
i have a 2002 zr2 the temp got up to 250 degrees luckily i saw it when it happened and shut the engine off. I thought it was the thermostat so i replaced that. i replaced a radiator hose and the water pump the fan is in good shape. It is still getting warm but it only gets to about 230 now. It is also getting about 12.5 miles per gallon city. And when the ac is on it idles roughly/has a vibration. If any one has any advice on this id love to hear it. 90,500 miles I can also hear the fluid sloshin around in the heatercore. heat works very well. blows hot hot air.
