Look for a BMW rad from a early 90's 750 series. It is a single row with 1" tubes, crossflow, has a trans cooler built in and has the inlet and outlet where you want them, trans in/out on the driver side. Overall size is 25-9/16" x 17-1/4" x 1-1/4" core size. A late 80's is a 2-row, same height but an inch narrower and is $100 cheaper brand new.
A lot of the mopar guys use these in A bodies for their size and superior cooling ability.

This radiator is divided so that the top outlet allows the water to travel to the passenger side of the car then flow back to the drivers side. So the tank on the drivers side a divider in the middle. So to the radiator doesn't care where the water starts as long as it goes through all of the tubes. I would think the problem would be plumbing the bottom hose ALL the way from the passengers side UP to the drivers side. Also air will get trapped inside with all the bends and twists you will have to make.
I think you need to keep looking.

|dklong||your rad would'nt be a good set up, try surfin the web and find a custom rad builder and get one custom made, it will cost you $ , but in the long run it will be cheaper , ie no over heated engines,|

Radiator with SBC 283
I'm building a '36 Hudson Terraplane 2-Door Sedan. '59 Chevy 283 with 700R4 trans. Not a lot of room for a radiator but by sheer accident I found that the radiator from a '99 Dodge Stratus with the 2.5 V6 is the exact size.
Problems: I have to stand it on end and the inlet and outlet tubes are both on the top (originally both are on the driver's side when the radiator is mounted normally). I have to get an in-hose filler & cap.
Is having the inlet and outlet tubes both on the top instead of one on top and one on the bottom going to be a problem? I can use copper tubing or galvanized pipe to go down the passenger side to the water pump hose. Will this radiator be large enough. It also has the a/c condensor and trans cooler in front of the radiator with dual electric fans to pull air through the radiator.
