A two part primer is the safe way to avoid reactions with paint edges. Clear coat is what "seals" the deal and protects the repair and produces the gloss...

You can use the same materials as with a regular sheet metal repair.
Rough with 180, and fill with a 2 part glazing putty.
sand again with 180 and feather with 320..
a 2 part primer then sand as usual with 400
blend in some color, then clear complete.
wait 18 hours ...detail any nibs/peel with 2000 then polish
take your time, keep it fun...

hi, I am just starting out and I would like to know how to repair and paint a scratch on a plastic bumper, including what grade papers to use etc.
