|Aron1980||So is that regarding the grinding then? As far as the stall goes, it only seems to do it once things warm up. While it's cold (winter weather) it shifts fine.|

4L60E Shift and grind issues
So I did a little searching and I've seen a few things that I'm going to have to check. I'm not seeing anything quite the same as I am experiencing.
I have a 1994 Chevy G20 van. I bought a rebuilt transmission a couple years back that only has about 25000 miles on it. The problem started about 4000 miles ago and I've had it into the shop a couple of times.
When I start out, it stalls for a second before jumping into first gear. It doesn't jerk unless I really get on it. Sometimes it will just start out in second or sometimes even third gear. A real PITA at a stoplight. The other thing that just started happening is a grinding at highway speeds (about 55mph) while in OD. It doesn't do it while OD is not on.
The shop replaced the PCM (I think that's what it was called) and tested the whole thing and come up with nothing. They said everything checked out. Replacing the PCM solved some bad codes that they said appeared while shaking the PCM. BTW, the van itself has 226K miles on it.
I'm trying to decide what to do next since I need this rusted POS to work. Thanks in advance!
