Depends in there's a jobber in your state. I'm in Iowa and there is not one here, so everything is shipped to me free. I'm not a professional either, just some dude who's restoring his Mustang.
Yes that web page is a bit confusing. Call them , if they don't have a vendor near you they will ship your order out that very same day, with free freight.
after you spray it you will be sold even more. not to mention you WILL NOT find any better service than theirs...hands down the best customer service i've ever dealt with. call the hotlines for these big guys and see how far they get you.
I did some tradework for a mustang and the guy gave me some epoxy, basecoat, and reducer from them. Tells me he talked to the owner directly and said the customer service was amazing. Not sure what clear will work with it but here on the west coast you don't hear too much about them but they seem to be a good respected brand in the hot rod scene.
Theres been many ,many times when Barry will help trouble shoot problems for people that arent even using his products,Hes done it for me.I dont know of anyone that knows more about paints and primers than him...This man truely loves his job...but I was sold on SPI long before I ever heard his name.. I rate the company and products a 10 across the board.
I'm up in Canada and couldn't find someone who stocked it here. They shipped it to me (In Buffalo) and I'm definitely an end user.
I have only sprayed it, and haven't sanded it. I'd say it sprays identical to PPG DP. Which I can only give high praise to. Seems a TOUCH thinner, but it's been awhile.
Called them directly, supplies arrived in two days, two weeks ahead of my base. I couldn't believe the shipping was so fast. Straight, to the point transaction with no intentional upselling, yet will answer any question you have. If they would get back into making base colors, I wouldn't even deal with any other company, and I have only bought from them once, One huge benefit it that the owner is on this very forum offering advice. It isn't just some chemical engineer mixing stuff out of a book, but an individual with real painting experience.
