|m/w||Both governor tubes r in place going to top of tranny its the bottom tube that goes into the valve body thats the issue . The shop is almost cleaned up so will have at it very shortly. Thanks for all the advice big time|

the pan actually holds the one governor tube up in place.
I built a couple of the t-425 transaxles recently

yes the govenor is for your shifts hammer out the pan as best as you can and make shure those tubes are tight

|m/w||yes it did can i take a dead blow hammer and give it a wack ? Is it just a press fit for lack of better term? Would this have an effect on shifting? Thanks again guys . Later Bake|

those 2 tubes are for your govenor yes they are a press in fit,did the trans pan get wacked in that area ?

You could have knocked the modulator valve hose loose or damaged it in some way and restricting the vacuum pressure needed to make it shift.
When the valve isn't working you have to really wind it up to shift out of low gear.

72 eldorado tranny
OK here's the skinny , i was driving this car and hit a frost boil and the tranny didn't want 2 shift correctly after that .You had to floor it to shift out of 1 st but as soon as you backed off the gas it would shift down a gear .I found out later it had been doing this before , only not as bad . So we changed oil & filter and no difference, but i noticed one of the pipes coming out of the valve body was loose , there are no nuts to tighten these pipes so i'm thinking it's a press fit . All wiring seems ok , i'm just thinking if this is a pressure line perhaps this is the problem . Sorry if this has been asked before any help greatly appreciated .Later Bake
