Engine rebuild time

I'm in the midst of a frame-up on my '52 chevy 1/2ton, I've just about got the chassis complete and I'm wondering when is the best time to get the engine rebuilt?? I'm doing all the bodywork myself on weekends and after work so it'll be sometime before it'll be finished, will the engine sitting after a fresh rebuild damage anything, or will it need another going over after sitting for so long?? I know a little about engines but nothing about rebuilds so any help would be great! Thanks to all in advance!

Rotating the assembly is something that should be done. A local machine shop told me about a guy letting his motor sit so long without rotating it that the rings dug grooves so big that he had to bore it out again. Lots of lube, good rotation, and keeping it sealed so no moister can get in, and the motor should be fine.
