im having problems with a fairbanks shift kit . i installed as per the instruction and made it full man valve body as per instructions. problem is it shifts great up shifting but will not manually shift back into first untill im almost at a dead stop. this is in a mud bog truck and i really need it to down shift under full throttle when needed. any suggestions?

Since I do not know how the Fairbanks kit is designed... and I doubt the kit is too different from a TransGo kit.
Is the governor used in the Fairbanks kit? Or is it eliminated?
Vacuum modulator used or removed?
My guess is the governor circuit is flooded and the trans will not bump back to first like it should. This happens in a TransGo kit install about 2 out of 10 times.
A hole is drilled into the governor circuit may help. About .065 size hole is a good size to start. Valve body removal is needed. Drill the hole in the circuit at the rear of the v-body is easiest

governor is used with springs to hold wide open the modulator is there but no vac to it . the instruction say to leave modulator in but not use vac to it. however it does give an option to remove it and use a plud to hold the valve.,but the instruction say not to use the plug if using the manual valve body option

Vacuum modulator is there to blow off pressure in reverse. Reverse pressure can go over 300 if a aluminum plug is installed in place of the vacuum modulaotor
Sounds like this kit is similar to TransGo. The hole in the governor circuit should fix the problem. The hole plows off some pressure to allow the down shift to first

i just want to be correct drill a hole in the governer circuit anywhere at the rear of the case correct? i just dont want to put it in the wrong place. if you had a diagram that would be great again just dont want to put it in wrong place.
its exactly the same as a transgo system try what crosley sugested, those kits are made by superior they put a fairbanks logo on them(fairbanks have not been in business in years )
