All good here :mwink: Willys is at that stage seats in and steering done I am happy  the wee foster kid from next door had the first ride with steering today   however I have a problem in that I have to shorten the column by a couple of inches, it is a flaming river unit floor shift but I cant find how to dismantle it or more the point put it back together dose anyone know of a link i can see drawings
?????
What I do on all of mine is,,,
I figure out what I need to cut off,,
Put tape around the bottom, And cut it off with a cut off wheel,,
Then I drill out the two little dimples on the side's that hold's the Bushing in at the bottom,,
Now.. once you do all this, And you have the bottom piece in your hand with the bushing ,,
Place it into a vise,,,
I then carefully knock out the bushing,, (it's easier to knock it out once the bottom piece is cut off the column)
Then put it into the other good part...(column) Knock it in carefully..
Now.. take a center punch and add a couple of dimples to hold the bushing in.. Just try not to move the shaft to much....
I have done this to a lot of column's like this... Never had a problem... Just don't try to tilt it without the bushing in it..I never take the column apart when I do one..
Or you can just take everything a part..
Truck look's GREAT !!!!!
